STEMcx Academy: STEM Around the World
The STEMcx Saturday Academy returns this fall with an exciting new theme: STEM Around the World! For the Fall semester, September-December, will have seven hands-on Saturday sessions, students will receive a STEM passport and “travel” to different countries while exploring each nation’s scientific and technological contributions. Every stop will include an engineering challenge, a related STEM career and a fun cultural connection.
Classes meet from 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. on the second and fourth Saturdays from September through December at New Psalmist Baptist Church. The $100 registration fee covers all seven classes, materials and student activities. All sessions will be held in person. Because enrollment is limited, families should register only if their student can attend most of the program.
All students will attend the Festival of Tress and the class will decorate a wreath for fundraising.
