Honoring Larry Smith Through STEM Education

On June 30, Ruth and Larry Smith were involved in a serious automobile accident. Tragically, Larry died from his injuries. Ruth is recovering and is expected to make a full recovery.

Larry cared deeply about math education and expanding opportunities for young people. As Ruth considered how to honor his life, STEMcx emerged as a natural fit.

STEMcx provides Baltimore-area students with math and science tutoring, mentorship, hands-on programs, and paid STEM experiences. Support given in Larry’s memory will help young people build confidence, strengthen their skills, and discover new possibilities for their futures.

Through this effort, Larry’s commitment to education will continue to make a difference.
